BOARDING

Here at Underhelm, we want to give your dog more than just a place to sleep whilst you are away. We want to make them a part of our family. Giving them all the love and attention they deserve. That is why we will only look after one clients dog/s at any given time*. We do not take dogs from different households.

When your dog stays with us, they will be treated as one of our own. We will give them access to the magnificent outside spaces that Kendal and the surrounding areas have to offer. Yes, we're talking about the magnificent Lake District National Park!

We often visit the national park with our own dogs, so your dog will never be short of companions to adventure with!

* We may consider two dogs from different households if the dogs know each other, are happy to share the same boarding space and both parties are in agreement.

Boarding 1 Dog

£40 per night

Single Nights

One dog - £55

Two dogs - £75

Long and Short term boarding available.

Discounts will be given to long term boarders and frequent attenders.

When staying with us, your dog will stay in our bespoke insulated kennel unit, custom manufactured by Benchmark Kennels.

These kennels were built for our own dogs, so only the best will do!

The kennels have a large sleeping area, big enough for even the biggest of dog breeds, as well as a sizeable run area. Most of the time however, when not off site on a walk, they will also have full access to a secure garden.

The kennels are fitted with a state of the art monitoring system, including CCTV, temperature sensors and an automated heating system, ensuring that they are always comfortable, safe and secure.

Your dog/s will have the option to stay alone if needed, or could possible board with our dogs if they prefer 24/7 company.

Whatever your dog needs, I'm sure we can cater for it.

Conditions of stay

When staying with us, there are certain conditions that we must adhere too. These are conditions of our License and also our Insurance Policy, and so are non-negotiable. They safeguard ourselves, our dogs and also your dog. These are (but not limited too):

All dogs must be microchipped.
All dogs must be vaccinated. Proof will be required upon booking in the form of a vaccination card that also has the corresponding microchip number. The microchip will be scanned on drop off.
If your dogs have not been vaccinated, but have been titre tested, this is also acceptable. Proof will be required.
It is a good idea to make sure your dog is also up to date with parasite treatment i.e. flea and worming. As we go into the Lakeland Fells often, ticks can be an issue, especially in the warmer months. It is a good idea to safeguard against them.

Trial Stay

When booking your dog for boarding, we first need to make sure that your dog will enjoy their stay with us. As we are not a large commercial kennel unit, your dog will be coming to our home and family. As such, we need to make sure that there are no issues that may make their stay stressful for us and, more importantly, them.

To make sure of this, they will need to come to us for up to 24 hours for a trial stay beforehand.
