BOARDING

Here at Underhelm, we want to give your dog more than just a place to sleep whilst you are away. We want to make them a part of our family. Giving them all the love and attention they deserve. That is why we will only look after one clients dog at any given time*. We do not take dogs from different households.

When your dog stays with us, they will be treated to the magnificent outside spaces that Kendal and the surrounding areas have to offer. Yes, we're talking about the magnificent Lake District National Park!

We often visit the national park with our own dogs, so your dog will never be short of companions to adventure with!

*we will accept two dogs from the same household if they will happily share the boarding space.

Prices

Boarding 1 Dog

£35 per night

(based on multiple night booking)

Boarding 2 Dogs

£55 per night.

(based on a multiple night booking)

Single Nights

One dog - £50

Two dogs - £70

When booking for multiple nights, a 50% deposit will be required to secure your stay.

If booking for a single night, the full amount will need to be paid upon booking.

Conditions of stay

When staying with us, there are certain conditions that we must adhere too. These are conditions of our License and also our Insurance Policy, and so are non-negotiable. They safeguard ourselves, our dogs and also your dog. These are (but not limited too):

All dogs must be microchipped.
All dogs must be vaccinated. Proof will be required upon booking in the form of a vaccination card that also has the corresponding microchip number. The microchip will be scanned on drop off.
If your dogs have not been vaccinated, but have been titre tested, this is also acceptable. Proof will be required.

On booking, you will be sent a booking form to complete.

Trial Stay

When booking your dog for boarding, we first need to make sure that your dog will enjoy their stay with us. As we are not a commercial kennel, your dog will be coming into our home and family unit. As such, we need to make sure that there are no issues that may make their stay stressful for us and, more importantly, them.

To make sure of this, they will need to come to us for a 24 hour trial stay beforehand.

When you have paid your 50% booking deposit, we will arrange a date for their trial stay. If we decide your dog cannot stay with us going forward, we will refund the full amount of your deposit to you.

As well as boarding, we do sometimes have availability for other services such as dog walking, pet pop-ins etc. Get in touch and we can discuss what you need.
